Elon Musk has become the third-richest person in the world after a Tesla stock split sent his shares surging up to 12 percent / Digital Information World

The coronavirus pandemic has unexpectedly become a blessing in disguise for Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he has now become the third-richest man in the world. Amidst the pandemic, he saw a wealth gain of $87.8 billion, and recently, a stock split in Tesla has surged his shares up to almost 12%, making his net worth surpassing Mark Zuckerberg’s.

Now, Mark Zuckerberg has been pushed to the fourth richest man in the world with a net worth of $110.8 billion. Elon Musk’s net worth now is around $115.4 billion, and he is followed by Bill Gates on the second richest man, and Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon on the first rank. Bezos’s net worth has crossed $200 billion.

So, it looks like while the world was and is still going through a major pandemic and its entire foundation had crumbled, Elon Musk got lucky and managed to encompass more fortune. However, despite all his wealth, he has often expressed his disinterest in all the monetary gains. He is often found expressing his wish to give away almost all of his physical belongings and that he will not even own a house on personal grounds. He has even agreed to sell all four of his properties in Los Angeles to a luxury real estate developer. The total worth of these properties is calculated by up to $62.5 million.

Even when he was not the third-richest person in the world, he was still a very rich man, but he has never been seen spending lavishly on things for leisure and pleasure. His girlfriend, the musician Grimes has also reported that Musk uses his wealth on Research and Development facilities and invests all his energies on trying to make the world a better place by creating better and beneficial things for people. Grimes also said that he does not go on buying ‘yachts’ with his money and instead tries to put it to better use.

Well, all of this makes him sound like a great philanthropist, and if that is true, then it is a wonderful thing to know. Apart from his LA properties and his real estate portfolio, everything else about the guy seems like he is not someone who is blinded by the shining fortunes. He has even signed the ‘Giving Pledge,’ which says that he will donate the majority of his wealth in his life or his will.

Whatever he does with his wealth is his personal issue anyway and people should stop making speculations about what one does with his or her wealth!
