The coronavirus pandemic has locked everyone in their homes. People have no other things except for using social media and as all types of shopping malls are closed people are engaged in online shopping. They are shopping more than usual as they have no other source of entertainment and no other expenses they spend all their money on online shopping

In 2020 the rate of online shopping applications has increased by 40%. This information has provided the latest research by a marketing firm app Liftoff in collaboration with Adjust.

An analysis was done of 53 billion advertisement’s impression these advertisements caused 10 million new installs. This result is for only one year that is from April 2019 to April 2020. This analysis also showed that the number of online shoppers has increased in North America while it has reduced in Asia ever since the pandemics Asians have reduced online shopping.

On the other hand, the cost of acquiring a brand new user for retail apps has fallen, and as the days are passing the cost is decreasing and in recent news, it only cost an average of $19.47. In 2019 the purchase rates of retail apps were around 14.5% and now it is only 10.5% however even though the cost has reduced the levels have increased by 110% over the last two years.

As per research of Mark Ellis, the CEO of Liftoff, apps, and websites like Flipkart, Amazon, and Alibaba are the main reason behind the increase of E-commerce and these apps are risking the sales of many other E-commerce websites. Ever since last year, the purchases from these websites is increasing nonstop. He even said that this rate is expected to rise further in the future as users nowadays rely more on social media and mobile phones and it’s the best time for any retail app marketer to promote their products.

One of the biggest reasons behind the increase in online shopping is the Coronavirus pandemic as people are in a lockdown and the only option to buy stuff is making purchases online.

At the start of the Covid-19 lockdown, online shopping was not much preferred as people were still scared and the entire march the E-commerce industries were facing losses.

Paul H. Muller co-founder of CTO stated that this not even lasted for a month as ever since April the number of online shopping increased. Many businesses even converted themselves to online. The system of E-commerce stopped for a while but as a result, improved versions of retail apps were there and they were back with marketing their products and targeting the audience.

A recent report stated that in North America the cost of first purchase went down by 4 times while the conversion rates were 4 times higher and 6 times higher than it was in APAC.

The rates of APAC doubled over the years and it cost around $54.90 meanwhile the purchase rate was much lesser than what it was in 2019.
